  • Do you accept insurance?
Yes. Healthy Hive is in network with Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, UnitedHealthcare, Cigna, Sana, Dell Children's Health Plan STAR, CHIP, SmartHealth (Ascension Seton Employee Health Plan), Superior STAR, CHIP and BCBS STAR, CHIP, STAR Kids, STAR Plus. Many patients pay zero dollars out of pocket, but insurance coverage varies, so we recommend calling the number on your insurance card and asking the following questions: Do you reimburse for the following CPT codes in a telehealth setting: 97802, 97803. If so, how much do you cover? Please be very clear that it is a telehealth service as this may or may not affect your coverage. Do you reimburse for ICD-10 code Z71.3 (Dietary counseling and surveillance), or is a medical diagnosis required from a physician? If a medical diagnosis is required, we can provide you with a referral form to submit to your medical provider. For out-of-network insurance coverage, Healthy Hive can provide a Superbill which you can submit for reimbursement. It is your responsibility to determine what your insurance covers and to make decisions accordingly. Payment for services must be paid to Healthy Hive at the time of booking. Please contact us directly if you have any questions regarding this process.
  • Do you accept FSA or HSA?
Yes! You are able to pay for our counseling services using your FSA or HSA card. However, it is your responsibility to verify if your FSA or HSA covers nutrition services. Oftentimes, nutrition counseling is covered, but a Letter of Medical Necessity (LMN) is required by a physician. Ultimately, you are responsible for any charges that are not covered by your FSA or HSA, so we recommend that you verify with your provider prior to booking a service.
  • Do you work with clients outside of TX?
Yes! As telehealth providers we are able to offer services (mostly) anywhere. However, there are some states that require state licensure for a dietitian to practice there. Fortunately, we are able to work in many different states throughout the US. Currently, we welcome clients from the following states: Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Idaho, Indiana, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Hampshire, New York, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin, Wyoming
  • Will my child be included in our sessions?
We tailor every session to meet the unique needs of your family. Most often, we work with parents directly as the strategies we recommend are implemented by caregivers in the family - not the child. However, in most cases we will ask to see the child at some point during the appointment. Often times, discussing a child's eating habits in front of them can exacerbate whatever challenge they may be facing and can increase risk for poor body image and disordered eating. However, depending on the child's age and nutrition goals, we may work with the child if this is in their best interest. Additionally, we believe that many children's nutrition challenges are best addressed with a whole family approach. While our main focus is children, we may make recommendations for other household members to help achieve the nutrition goals identified for the child.
  • Are we right for you?
Our registered dietitian nutritionists work with people of all ages. While we specialize in family nutrition, we keep our doors open for anyone looking to live, feel and eat better. The best way to determine if we're a good fit for you is to submit an inquiry on our homepage or schedule a discovery call to speak directly with one of our dietitians!
