ABOUT THE TEAM
Sarah Harris Registered Dietitian Nutritionist
Sarah Harris, RDN, LD

Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and co-founder of Healthy Hive with a mission of helping parents to feed their kids better, with confidence. I love working with families to tackle tough nutrition problems and to come up with strategies for nourishing kids that will benefit them for a lifetime. Every child is unique including how they approach food. It brings me joy to partner with parents to find specialized solutions that work for their family.

Having spent 10 years of my career focused on child nutrition, I was well aware of the challenges of feeding kids well, but it wasn't until I had my own children that I fully understood how tough getting the right foods in their tummies can be. I was suddenly questioning everything I knew, and I saw so many mixed messages out there. Even other health professionals suggested things I knew were outdated nutrition guidelines, but still I questioned whether I was making the right choice for my child. I stuck with my gut and went with the latest research, proven methods, and did what worked best for my family, and that's what I aim to share with my clients.

In my spare time, I enjoy staying active with my husband and our two young girls. We can be found exploring one of Austin's many parks, trying out a new restaurant or hanging out at a brewery.

Lauren Eliasson Registered Dietitian Nutritionist
Lauren Eliasson, RDN, LD

Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, co-founder of Healthy Hive, Wife, and Mama to our wild child, Avery. Through a challenging pregnancy, birth, and first year of life, Avery is always keeping us on our toes, and feeding her has proven to be one of the most challenging & rewarding experiences yet.

In her early months, we struggled with breastfeeding, weight gain, GI issues and suspected food allergies. I spent countless hours crying, pumping, stressing over supply, researching formulas, overanalyzing diapers, weighing baby, restricting my diet, and taking diligent notes to somehow fit all the puzzle pieces together. I was drowning in it all.

But things began to fall into place when I learned to let go and let Avery take the lead. After starting solids at six months, her growth took off, her GI issues resolved, and she was truly thriving. Mom and Dad got to share our love for cooking (and eating), and she eagerly ate her way through 100+ foods long before her first birthday.

Sometimes, nourishing a child who is struggling with nutrition can be all-consuming. And sometimes, it takes asking for a little help to get through it. Feeding Avery helped us find the joy in parenthood again. And now, it's my mission to help other struggling families do the same.

Based in Austin, Texas, we are registered pediatric dietitian nutritionists, moms, and co-founders of Healthy Hive Family Nutrition. With 20+ years combined experience in child nutrition, we thought we had it all figured out... But we quickly realized we still had a lot to learn about feeding children the second we had our own. We have fought our way through breastfeeding challenges, bottle refusal, failure to thrive, food allergies, picky eating, and more. We have shared many of your feeding struggles! So now we are pouring everything we can into helping families work through their own nutrition challenges and find the joy in feeding again. If you’ve come this far, you’ve been through enough. We've got the tools to help you work through your own nutrition battles.
